MNS Low-Voltage Switch Cabinet: Key Features & Typical Use
Eight Drawer Sizes, One Frame
The MNS frame is assembled from 25 mm module C-section steel with an effective height of 1800 mm, and the functional units come in eight drawer sizes: 8E/4, 6E/2, 8E/2, 6E, 8E, 12E, 16E and 24E. A single cubicle can therefore hold 36 small outgoing circuits in 8E/4 drawers or nine larger 8E drawers, without changing the enclosure.Interlocked for Connection, Test and Disconnect
Every drawer size provides defined connected, test and disconnected positions with mechanical interlocking, so a feeder can be isolated and tested without opening the busbar compartment. The smaller 8E/4, 6E/2 and 8E/2 units use FZID metal split adapter units and a hand-pull propulsion mechanism, while the 12E, 16E and 24E drawers use a hand-cranked mechanism for the heavier breakers.Designed Around Cable and Heat
Cable entry, busbar routing and load ratings were chosen together: the incoming cubicle carries up to 1500 kg and dissipates 2490 W, the control cubicle 1530 W. Ventilation openings at the lower front, upper rear, both lower rear door sections and the top of IP40 units let the enclosure form a natural chimney, which keeps the internal temperature rise within limits without forced cooling in normal duty.Built for Plants That Cannot Stop
The MNS is aimed at installations where a single feeder outage is expensive: power plants, petroleum and chemical plants, hospitals, railways, highways, airports, mining and large buildings. The shell is cold-rolled steel with a light grey epoxy powder electrostatic coating, the frame is C-section steel and the support beams are aluminium-zinc coated, so the structure stays rigid and corrosion-resistant in an industrial atmosphere.MNS Low-Voltage Switch Cabinet Specifications & Technical Data

MNS — a Low-Voltage Switch Cabinet Sized Around the Load, Not the Catalogue
The MNS exists because a plant rarely needs one kind of outgoing circuit. It needs a few heavy feeders, a large number of small motor circuits and some control loops, all fed from the same busbar. Eight drawer sizes on a 25 mm module frame let that mix live in one cubicle row, with rated currents up to 6300 A at 400 V or 690 V.This family of equipment is described in tender documents as MNS type low-voltage switchgear, drawer-type or withdrawable LV switchgear, or simply a low-voltage motor control centre. Compared with a fixed board, the MNS is chosen when the outgoing circuit list is long and mixed, and buyers who compare manufacturers should ask how many drawer sizes a supplier actually makes, because fewer sizes means more wasted cubicle height. The frame is assembled from C-section steel with an 1800 mm effective height. Every drawer offers connected, test and disconnected positions with mechanical interlock, and the heavier 12E, 16E and 24E units use a hand-cranked propulsion mechanism rather than a pull handle. Ventilation openings at the lower front, upper rear and cabinet top give the enclosure a natural chimney path.Typical duties are power distribution and centralised motor control in power plants, petroleum and chemical works, hospitals, railways, airports and mining operations, plus capacitor compensation. LYE builds the MNS shell and frame in-house, so busbar arrangements and drawer combinations can be adapted to your single-line diagram while the enclosure geometry stays standard.
Factory-Direct MNS Low-Voltage Switch Cabinet Manufacturer & OEM / ODM
We Manufacture, You Brand
LYE Technology (Zhejiang) Co., Ltd. is a national high-tech enterprise and manufacturer in Wenzhou, China: sheet-metal fabrication, welding, powder coating, busbar machining and final assembly run on our own factory lines, and every unit is function-tested before it leaves the works. A MNS Low-Voltage Switch Cabinet that reaches your site carries the routine test behind it, not just the rating on the nameplate. We are one of the Top 10 Brands of China's small power distribution boxes and a drafter of national standards in this category, and we hold ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001, CCC, CE and TUV certification. Because we are the manufacturer rather than a trading company, our sales engineers quote from your drawing in factory-direct terms, and OEM or ODM work is produced on the same lines as our standard products. For the MNS we assemble the C-section frame and fit the drawers on our own line, so a mixed drawer schedule is a normal order rather than a special one.- OEM branding — custom colours, laser marking and your own project or retail packaging, applied at the factory.
- ODM options — ratings, configurations and internal layouts built around your drawings or single-line diagram.
- Certification — ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001, CCC, CE and TUV, with test documents supplied per project.
- MOQ — flexible quantities for a project or a trial order, with mixed types welcome in one shipment.

What is an MNS low-voltage switch cabinet?
It is a 0.4 kV low-voltage distribution cabinet built on a modular frame with withdrawable functional units, used for power distribution, centralised motor control and capacitor compensation in three-phase 50–60 Hz systems at 400 V (690 V) and below, with rated currents up to 6300 A. The MNS platform uses a 25 mm module frame with an effective height of 1800 mm.What is an MNS switchgear used for?
It handles incoming distribution, motor control and compensation duties where the outgoing circuit list is long and varied. Typical installations are power plants, petroleum and chemical plants, hospitals, railways, highways, airports, mining operations and large commercial buildings, and it is usually chosen over a fixed board where a single feeder outage would be expensive. How many circuits can one MNS cubicle hold?
Up to 36 circuits in 8E/4 drawers, up to 24 in 6E/2, up to 18 in 8E/2 or up to nine in 8E drawers. Because eight drawer specifications exist, a cubicle can also be arranged as a mix of small and large ways so the available module height is used rather than half-filled, which reduces the number of cubicles needed for the same load list.Who manufactures MNS low-voltage switchgear?
MNS is an established modular platform built by a number of manufacturers, which is why two suppliers can both quote an MNS board and still deliver very different equipment. What matters is whether the frame, drawers, adapter units and painted shell are produced by the supplier themselves, and which test records accompany the shipment. LYE manufactures the MNS frame and shell in Wenzhou and holds ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001, CCC, CE and TUV certification. How much does an MNS switchboard cost?
Indicative factory-direct pricing is roughly US$1,500 to US$6,000 per cubicle, depending on the drawer schedule, the busbar rating, the number of cubicles and the quantity ordered. Because the board is configured rather than catalogued, a mixed drawer schedule is priced from the bill of materials rather than a list price, and the heat load per cubicle can also affect the arrangement and therefore the cost. The MNS is a 0.4 kV low-voltage switch cabinet built on a 25 mm module C-section frame with an effective height of 1800 mm, using eight drawer sizes from 8E/4 up to 24E. It handles three-phase 50–60 Hz systems at 400 V (690 V) and below with rated currents up to 6300 A, and is used for power distribution, centralised motor control and capacitor compensation.
